“We were looking for a 15-hectare site right by a port to build our new production unit for dicalcium phosphate, a substance used in animal feed, and we found it at Dunkirk. The major maritime, waterway, rail and road infrastructures provided by the area were also decisive in our choice, as they will facilitate our imports of raw materials, mainly from North Africa, and our exports to Europe which is our primary market. We are also located in the heart of a large industrial basin which has an ample qualified and motivated workforce, offers facilities for energy supplies, and has developed a very large network of service companies. I’m thinking of maintenance in particular. All these factors, as well as the very positive response we received from Dunkerque Promotion, Grand Port Maritime de Dunkerque and Total, convinced us that this was the right decision.”
“Ecophos is pleased with the work completed in recent months to optimise the setup of our production unit. The area and its teams have been fully mobilised, in a positive and constructive climate, with the sole aim of making our project a success,” said Hadrien Dorchy, Legal Director of the EcoPhos group, who signed the lease. “The Dunkirk context is very favourable for our setup, so that we can envisage rapid development for our new site at Mardyck. A number of extensions are already planned and being studied.”
